About this product

The Roland DJ-505 is a 2-channel, 4-deck DJ controller with 16 velocity-sensitive pads, built-in sound card, and XLR outputs. It features pitch control, jog wheel illumination, autoloop, and a built-in mixer. Compatible with Serato DJ, it offers USB power and a range of inputs including phono and mic. A robust controller for professional use.

Our take

I bought the DJ-505 for its drum machine integration and it doesn’t disappoint. The 16 pads are great for finger drumming, and the XLR outs make it stage-ready. The jog wheels feel smooth with good tension. However, it’s quite large and heavy—not for mobile DJs who travel light. The price is right for the features, but the layout can be cramped for big hands. Still, for studio or club use, it’s a powerful tool with Roland’s signature sound.
