Our take
The Roland DJ-808 packs a lot of features into a single unit — 4 channels, 4 decks, and 16 pads give plenty of room for creative mixing. The 24-bit/96 kHz audio quality is a step up from lower-end models, and the built-in effects (filter, flanger, reverb) are useful. I appreciate the dual mic inputs for talkovers or guest vocals. The hard case included is a nice bonus for transport. However, the controller is quite large and heavy, making it less ideal for mobile DJs. Also, some buttons feel a bit cramped. Overall, a strong contender for studio or club use at this price.
